Ag Canada Sees 104,000 MT Chickpea CropVANCOUVER - Jun 30/06 - SNS -- In its latest monthly review of Canadian chickpeas Agriculture Canada's market analysis branch in Winnipeg predicted production in Canada in 2006 will rise from 104,000 metric tons (MT) to 160,000, up 30,000 from last month's prediction. Seeded area is forecast to increase 82% to 356,000 acres, up 62,000 from last month's forecast; while harvested area is forecast at 326,000, up 54,000. Agriculture Canada expects this season's exports to finish around 75,000 MT, up 5,000 MT from last month's forecast.
