Mustard and Rapeseed Seedings DropWASHINGTON - Jun 30/06 - SNS -- Mustard seed plantings fell sharply in the United States this year in response to generally weaker market values, according to the USDA's seeded area estimates for 2006. Seedings are now estimate at 42,500 acres, down 6,500 acres from 2005. Mustard seed area for harvest is forecast at 40,500 acres, down 4,100 acres or 9% from the previous year. The USDA added that rapeseed growers planted an estimated 1,800 acres, a 25% decrease from last year. Harvested rapeseed area is forecast to be 1,600 acres.
