Few Changes in BirdseedsVANCOUVER - Jun 23/06 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets were little changed on the week, with markets holding steady in the face of confirmation of a significant drop in Canadian canaryseed area. Moderating the impact of the 34% reduction in seeded area to 313,000 acres is the belief yields will be well above the recent five-year average of 852 pounds per acre. Some market participants are looking for yields similar to last year's 1,064 pound result based on relatively good starting moisture reserves and a good blend of heat and rain so far this month. Other's believe that in July markets will start fearing hot and dry days will rob the crop of its yield potential. Subscribers can read the full text of the article by Clicking here
