Australian Livestock Auction Action FallSYDNEY - Jun 23/06 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd fell during the past week on strong declines in sheep, lamb and cattle offerings. Throughput for the week totalled 27,289 sheep and lambs, down from 36,979 head the previous week. The number of cattle put through the company's auctions totalled 1,917, compared to 2,840 last week. "Lambs across the board were tougher at the beginning of the week but firmed up towards the end. Most noticeable was the shift in store lamb values, which improved $3 - $5 from Tuesday to Thursday," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said. "Mutton of any quality is getting harder to find and what you'd normally class as good handy mutton sheep, appear to have made around 210c/kgdw on farm this week plus skin value."
