Little Change in South African PulsesPRETORIA - Jun 20/06 - SNS -- Pulse production levels in South Africa are little changed from last month, according to the latest estimates from the South African Grain Information Service (SAGIS). The production forecast for dry beans is 69,050 metric tons (MT), which is 0.4% or 285 MT less than the fourth forecast with an expected yield of 1.26 MT per hectare. SAGIS did not update its 2006-07 winter crop forecasts. Last month it prediction lupin area would increase from 14,100 to 15,200 hectares.
