Australian Livestock Auction Action JumpSYDNEY - Jun 16/06 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd rose during the past week on strong gains in sheep and lamb offerings. Throughput for the week totalled 36,979 sheep and lambs, up from 25,277 head the previous week. The number of cattle put through the company's auctions totalled 2,840, compared to 3,675 last week. "The debate goes on as to whether domestic slaughter stock are going to be short this spring or not," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said. "Some suggest even though there will be a lack of early suckers, the feedlotters will have lamb numbers to more than adequately fill the void."
