French Field Pea Export Pace QuickensVANCOUVER - Jun 13/06 - SNS -- The pace of French field pea exports picked up considerably in April, with 18,620 metric tons (MT) of peas shipped to India, the first time since August that French exporters have moved peas to the Indian subcontinent. This lifted exports for the month to 44,200 MT, up from 35,735 MT in April and above the 40,660 MT shipped during the same month last year. Higher export clearances end a string of 10 months in which shipments were below year earlier levels. Exports clearance estimates available from the Union Nationale Interprofessionnelle des Plantes Riches en Proteines (UNIP) were revised upward for the 2005-06 marketing year, based on new data from French customs.
