Debate Over Canadian Domestic Feed PeasVANCOUVER - Jun 9/06 - SNS -- International chickpea markets were mostly unchanged in relatively trade, with most markets now waiting for the next round of harvest activity before buying. Walker Seeds Ltd. of Tisdale, Saskatchewan says kabuli chickpea markets "are very firm, with very little stocks left in Canada due to replacement of seed base for next planting season. Most of the product that is left in Canada, is a ##035;2 grade, and almost all used up. "There is still some demand for small chick peas but no stocks are left in Canada. Most of the consuming markets are waiting for the Turkish and Syrian crops now as they will be the first chick pea crops to get harvested ( in July). "We are seeing some demand from the Subcontinent for whole desi chick peas but there are no stocks in Canada to support the demand. We will keep seeing the demand for Canadian split desi chick peas from North America for forward shipments." Subscribers can read the full text of the article by Clicking here
