Peas Little Changed in Light TradeVANCOUVER - Jun 9/06 - SNS -- Slowing export activity allowed North American field pea markets to end the week's trading unchanged to slightly easier. Markets in the United States were helped by the USDA's purchases of 7,060 metric tons (MT) of whole yellow and 1,050 MT of whole green peas for shipment as food aid in July. Interestingly, the USDA failed to buy 1,050 MT of yellow peas, saying asking prices were too high. Exports clearances in Canada continue at a slower pace, with fewer vessels nominated to lift product from Vancouver and Thunder Bay the rest of the month.
