USDA National Grain Review

ST. JOSEPH - Jun 9/06 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Jun 9.


WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW

   For the week grains bids were lower except soybeans which were slightly
higher.  The wheat harvest has started and is accelerating rapidly as the
weather outlook is hot and dry.  Soft red winter wheat yields were reported
better than expected pressuring the market.  Early in the week the winter wheat
harvest was reported 9 percent complete.  Weekly export sales were posted at
320,500 tonnes as compared to 300,000-450,000 tonnes.
   Corn ended on a negative note, while soybeans closed slightly higher.  The
corn-belt continues to receive favorable weather for good crop growth.  The
weekly crop conditions report for corn was reported at 71 percent in good to
excellent condition as compared to 70 percent last week and 64 percent last
year.  The first weekly crop conditions report for soybeans came in at 70
percent in good to excellent condition as compared to 62 percent last year.
Weekly export sales for corn came in at 914,600 tonnes and soybeans at 300,700
tonnes.
   Wheat was mostly 6-21 cents lower.  Corn was mostly 5-12 cents lower.
Sorghum was 16-25 cents lower.  Soybeans were 1-5 cents higher except
Minneapolis 5 cents lower.

THE ONLY SALES THAT COULD BE CONFIRMED BY THE USDA GRAIN MARKET NEWS.**

   WHEAT:  Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was
1/2 cent higher from 5.08-5.44 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 Soft Red Winter
rail bid was 6 1/2 cents lower from 4.33-4.53 per bushel.  St. Louis truck US No
2 Soft Red Winter terminal bid was 15 cents lower at 3.49 per bushel.
Minneapolis and Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent
protein rail, was 6 to 21 cents lower from 5.28-5.58 per bushel.  Portland US
Soft White Wheat rail was steady to 1 cent higher from 3.80-3.83 per bushel.

   CORN:  Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 2 to 5 cents lower from 2.46-
2.49 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 5 cents lower at
2.25 per bushel.  Omaha US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 7 cents lower from 2.08-
2.09 per bushel.  Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 5 to 7 cents lower from 2.25
1/2-2.33 1/2 per bushel.  Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow corn was 7 to 10 cents
lower from 2.25 1/2-2.38 1/2 per bushel.  Minneapolis US No 2 Yellow Corn rail
was 12 cents lower at 1.95 1/2 per bushel.

   OATS AND BARLEY:  US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20
day was 1/4 cents lower from 2.13 1/2-2.16 1/2 per bushel.  US No 3 or better
rail malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was steady at
3.00 per bushel.  Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-export was not
available per cwt.

   SORGHUM:  US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 25 cents lower at 4.04 per
cwt.  Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the
farmer, fob elevator) was 16 cents lower from 3.88-4.03 per cwt.

   OILSEEDS:  Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans were 5 cents lower at 5.27 3/4
bushel.  Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 1 to 5 cents
higher from 5.69 3/4-5.77 3/4 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 Yellow truck
soybeans were 1 cent higher at 5.68 per bushel.  Decatur 48 percent Soybean
meal, processor rail bid was 4.90 to 6.90 higher from 176.10-182.10 per ton.
Decatur crude Soybean oil processor bid was 50 to 56 points lower from 23.40-
24.40 cents per pound.  Sunflower Oil was not available.
