Australian Livestock Auction Action JumpSYDNEY - Jun 9/06 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd rose during the past week on strong gains in cattle and modest gains in sheep and lamb offerings. Throughput for the week totalled 25,277 sheep and lambs, up from 23,881 head the previous week. The number of cattle put through the company's auctions totalled 3,675, compared to 1,963 last week. "Excellent winter throughputs this week . . . saw all but slaughter lambs on a firm to dearer trend," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said. "Mutton sheep were making up to 200c/kg on farm and store sheep and cattle rose in price on the promise of weekend rain." Subscribers can read the full text of the article by Clicking here
