India Exempts Pulses From Import DutyNEW DELHI - Jun 8/06 - SNS -- India has dropped its 10% import duty on pulses through March 31, 2007 in an effort to keep domestic "prices of pulses in check". The change is contained in the Finance Ministry notification No. 57/2006-Customs published today. It will apply only to imports through ports having the capacity to handle bulk imports. It was not immediately clear if this means shipments in containers will attract the 10% import duty.
