USDA Buys for 10,210 MT PulsesKANSAS CITY - Jun 7/06 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here confirmed the purchase of 10,210 metric tons (MT) of pulses for shipment in July. Under terms of USDA PL-480 food aid tender invitation 066, the pulses were bought for shipment between July 6 and 27 from plants at inland locations and between July 27 and August 20 from plants located at port. In releasing results of the latest tender, the USDA noted, "Offers for 1,050 MT of whole yellow peas were rejected due to price." This reduced the quantity bought from a potential 8,110 to 7,060 MT. The tender included a request for offers of 750 MT of whole green and/or yellow peas for shipment to the United Arab Emirates. It appears 30 MT of the total was covered by whole green peas. It is not certain if the balance was bought on this tender or part of the yellow pea offers which not accepted. Subscribers can read the full text of the article by Clicking here
