Argentine Beans Harvest in Full SwingVANCOUVER - Jun 2/06 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets were little changed during the past week under relatively quiet trading conditions. The Argentine bean harvest is in full swing, with processors saying initial yields are lower than expected and harvested beans are smaller than last year. Unchanged, this is expected to widen the spread between small and large caliber white alubia beans and create potential marketing problems for kidney and cranberry beans, which are normally sold as being 180 grains per 100 grams or larger. The problem with the sizing stems from the fact crops developed more quickly than usual this year and did not fill properly before the onset of harvest.
