Grower Holding Lifts Canaryseed
VANCOUVER - Jun 2/06 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets continued to firm during the past week in the face of reluctant selling by growers.
Processors and exporters appear to be finishing the marketing year with a net short in Canadian canaryseed. This forcing bids for old crop canaryseed higher.
Growers markets advanced from CDN $9.75 per U.S. $8.83 per 100 pounds (cwt) for farmers dressed product delivered western Canadian processing plants to CDN $10 or U.S. $9.06 cwt during the past week.
