Mixed Finish for NA Lentils
VANCOUVER - Jun 2/06 - SNS -- North American lentil markets finished the week mixed against relatively light demand and only moderate selling interest.
Processors in the United States are more eager sellers than their Canadian counterparts, reflecting different attitudes toward growing lentils on the part of growers in each country.
Minimum price guarantees by the U.S. government has stimulated rapid expansion in field pea and lentil plantings, while lentil growers in Canada remain discouraged by markets.
