Canadian Poultry Placements DownOTTAWA - May 29/06 - SNS -- Placements of hatchery chicks onto Canadian farms were estimated at 56.6 million birds in April, according to Statistics Canada, down 2.1% from April 2005. Year to date placements are down 1.38% from last year. Placements of turkey poults on farms decreased 2.7% to 1.8 million birds.
