USDA Boosts Pulse Tender
KANSAS CITY - May 26/06 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here amended PL-480 food aid tender invitation 066 to include more field peas and lentils than initially requested.
Under the changes, the USDA is seeking another 1,410 metric tons (MT) of lentils for shipment to the United Arab Emirates; and another 750 MT of whole yellow and/or green peas also for shipment to the United Arab Emirates.
All other terms of the tender remain unchanged.
The amendments lift the quantity of lentils being sought from 160 to 1,570 MT. The USDA is also seeking 1,010 MT of whole green; 260 MT of split green; and 7,400 MT of whole yellow peas.
