Strong Export Pace Intact for PeasVANCOUVER - May 19/06 - SNS -- Field pea markets finished the week's trading on a relatively firm note against steady import demand from the Indian subcontinent and the resumption of feed pea shipments to Spain. Canadian exporters nominated two vessels to load around 60,000 metric tons (MT) peas at Vancouver during the coming three weeks. The Canadian Grain Commission reports that bulk exports through licensed terminals is just under 1.6 million MT as of May 13, up 625,000 MT from the same 41-week span in 2004-05. The pace of exports is such that traders remain convinced Canada's ending stocks will come in around 215,000 MT; even thought the March 31 stocks in all positions numbers point to an ending stock closer to 400,000 MT.
