Australian Livestock Auction Action JumpsSYDNEY - May 19/06 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd rose during the past week on gains in sheep, lamb and cattle offerings. Throughput for the week totalled 26,850 sheep and lambs, up from 14,788 head the previous week. The number of cattle put through the company's auctions totalled 3,850, compared to 2,392 last week. "Throughputs have been building in May after the holiday month of April and of course the drier conditions," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said. "Physical markets reported reduced numbers and bigger percentages of plainer stock this week. Does this mean numbers are tightening despite the dry?"
