Steady Mexican Demand Helps BeansVANCOUVER - May 12/06 - SNS -- North American dry edible bean markets remain relatively quiet, with limited trading interest noted for both spot and new crop shipping positions. Shipments of beans to Mexico continue at a brisk pace from the United States, adding some support to markets in the United States. However, trading volumes are not at levels which can be viewed as bullish, a fact reflected in the relatively steady nature of grower and inter-dealer markets. It is also contributing to increased political tension in Mexico and rising demands for the removal of beans from the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
