Deferred Green Lentils StrengthenVANCOUVER - May 12/06 - SNS -- Spot lentil markets were little changed during the past week, while expectations of a significant decline in green lentil area in Canada added strength to deferred markets for that class. Red lentils still hold a premium to green in all shipping positions, but the spread between green and reds has narrowed for deferred delivery. The change is less obvious in grower markets, where processors remain reluctant buyers of new crop lentils, preferring to let growers assume the risk of producing this year's crop.
