Grower Holding Supports CanaryseedVANCOUVER - May 5/06 - SNS -- Canaryseed growers in Canada appear to have lost interest in selling, forcing inter-dealer and export asking prices sharply higher as available supplies fall below the needs of the market. Western Canadian farmers are active seeding this year's crops and, as a group, they normally become less interested in marketing in May and June. They are busy with seeding and post emergence field activities, as well as wanting to be certain their crop is doing well before moving additional material from their bins. As a result, exporters are finding it difficult to keep up with new demand from Brazil and other destinations, as well as cover existing sales commitments.
