Export Lentils StrengthenVANCOUVER - May 5/06 - SNS -- International lentil markets continued to strengthen during the past week, helped by an exceptionally strong Canadian dollar. That country's currency spent most of the week over U.S. 90 cents, up four cents from the season to date average; and versus a season average of 81 cents in 2004-05 and 75 cents in 2003-04. The net result is processors cannot reflect higher world prices back to growers, whether from high trading levels and/or savings in ocean freight.
