Dairy Product Output RisesWASHINGTON - May 5/06 - SNS -- Dairy product output was higher in March, with most product categories posting year over year gains, according to the USDA Total cheese output (excluding cottage cheese) was 810 million pounds, 1.5% above March 2005 and 12.3% above February 2006. Italian type cheese production totaled 343 million pounds, up 1.4% March 2005 and 11.6% above February 2006. American type cheese production totaled 338 million pounds, 2.1% above March 2005 and 11.2% above February 2006.
