Australian Livestock Auction Action RisesSYDNEY - May 5/06 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd rose during the past week on gains in sheep, lamb and cattle offerings. Throughput for the week totalled 19,721 sheep and lambs, up from 18,098 head the previous week. The number of cattle put through the company's auctions totalled 4,301, compared to 1,872 last week. Despite the rise in sheep and lamb offerings, AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said they "are struggling seasonally with fewer than normal prime sheep for this time of year."
