USDA Raises May Lending RatesWASHINGTON - May 1/06 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) raised interest rates for 1995 and prior crop year commodity loans from 4.750% to 4.875%. For 1996 and subsequent crop year commodity and marketing assistance loans, the interest rate for loans disbursed during May 2006 is 5.875%, up from 5.750% in April 2006. The interest rate for farm storage facility loans approved in May 2006 is 4.875%, up from 4.625% in April 2006. The interest rate for sugar storage facility loans for May 2006 is 5.000%, up from 4.750% in April 2006.
