Little Change on World Bean MarketsVANCOUVER - Apr 28/06 - SNS -- Dry edible bean markets were little changed on the week, with expectations of a solid decline in North American seedings having little impact on markets. Most of what is grown in North America is consumed domestically, with exporters focusing first on Mexico, then food aid, and finally other commercial markets for export sales. The modest decline forecast for edible bean supply will make it harder for the region to be competitive on world markets, but upward price potential will continue to be capped by the willingness of U.S. canners and packagers to now use Chinese origin beans.
