USDA Revises Lime GradesWASHINGTON - Apr 28/06 - SNS -- The USDA intends to revise U.S. Standards for Grades of Persian (Tahiti) Limes. The revisions will provide flexibility to determine juice content by weight, as well as the option to reclassify limes as 'Mixed Color' and 'Turning,' which will better serve the industry. The current standards are at http://www.ams.usda.gov/standards/stanfrfv.htm and the revision is at http://www.ams.usda.gov/fv/fvrulemaking.htm. A description of the revision will appear in the May 1, 2006, Federal Register and become effective May 31.
