Marginal Gain in Poultry Meat Stocks
WASHINGTON - Apr 21/06 - SNS -- Total frozen poultry supplies at the end of March were up marginally from the previous month, and 15% above last year, according to the USDA's latest report on agricultural products in cold storage.
At 867 million pounds, total stocks of chicken were down 6% pounds from the previous month, and up 29% from last year. Frozen egg stocks were also down 15% on the month at 20.8 million pounds.
At 374 million pounds, total pounds of turkey in freezers were up 57 million pounds from last month and down 10% from last year.
