Pea and Lentil Tenders Reach 4,000 MT
KANSAS CITY - Apr 19/06 - STAT -- The quantity of peas and lentils covered by USDA PL-480 food aid tenders this season now totals 153,320 MT, compared to 131,320 MT last year.
Purchases of green peas are down 8,650 MT at 20,100 MT versus 28,750 MT last season. Food aid demand for U.S. regular lentils is up 22,760 MT from last year's 49,050 MT.
