Tight Stocks Firm Pea Market
VANCOUVER - Apr 14/06 - SNS -- Tightening field peas stocks in both the United States and Canada are forcing export asking prices higher in both countries.
It has become obvious the pace of export clearances is such that ending stocks will likely drop from year earlier levels in both countries, adding end of season support to prices.
This combination of good movement and competitive returns with other crops will help sustain interest in peas.
This is seen in forecasts of increased area in both countries and predictions that Australia will also increase field pea seedings next fall.
