Mixed Finish For Edible BeansVANCOUVER - Apr 14/06 - SNS -- Dry edible bean markets managed a mixed finish on a week which saw only limited export trading interest. While Argentine markets remain strong in the face of worries about crop prospects, markets for some classes of U.S. beans eased on account of the limited buying interest. This was reflected in a 14 point decline in the spot market index for beans to 693. The grower index, by contrast, was unchanged at 646 points. Interestingly, the grower share of the values of beans ended the week at 83.4%, up from the average so far this season of 79.44%. Exporters in the United States reported light buying interest from Japanese importers for great northern, baby lima and blackeye beans. However, few trades were reported.
