Cargill's Vietnamese Mills Get HAACPNEW YORK - Apr 11/06 - SNS -- Cargill Vietnam Ltd.'s feed mills in Bien Hoa and Hung Yen have received HACCP certification. Cargill Animal Nutrition is the first Vietnamese animal feed producer to have any of its plants HACCP certified. HACCP stands for 'Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point' and is a food safety program designed to reduce or eliminate potential food safety hazards. HACCP is not required in the animal feed industry, but it is mandated in four areas of food for human consumption (fish and seafood, juice processing, poultry, and meat). Cargill Animal Nutrition's decision to implement this program is part of Cargill's Feed for Food program, which is focused on the company's commitment to quality. The company has feed mills in Can Tho, which expect to complete their HACCP certification later this year.
