Chiquita Names Thompson SVP
NEW YORK - Apr 11/06 - SNS -- Chiquita Brands International, Inc. says Robert W. Olson, senior vice president, general counsel and secretary, has decided to retire from the company at year end after more than 10 years of service.
The company also announced that James E. Thompson, 45, has joined Chiquita as senior vice president and chief compliance officer, where he will serve on the company's management committee and be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the company's compliance and ethics program. On July 1, Thompson will succeed Olson as general counsel and secretary with responsibility for Chiquita's global law department.
