Peanut Board Nominations SoughtWASHINGTON - Apr 10/06 - SNS -- The USDA is seeking nominations for individuals to serve on the Peanut Standards Board for terms of office ending June 30, 2009. Selected nominees would replace six producer and industry representatives who are currently serving the board’s initial term of office that ends June 30, 2006. The 18-member board consists of three producers and three industry representatives from each of the three producing regions: Southeast (Alabama, Georgia and Florida); Southwest (Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico); and Virginia and North Carolina. Eligible individuals, organizations and groups are invited to submit their nominations, which should be accompanied by a Peanut Standards Board Background Information form completed by the nominee. The form is available on the Internet at www.ams.usda.gov/fv/peanut-farmbill.htm; in writing to Dawana J. Clark, DC Marketing Field Office, Mail Unit 155, 4700 River Road, Riverdale MD 20737; by calling (301) 734-5243; by sending a fax to (301) 734-5275. Written nominations and accompanying Peanut Standards Board Background Information forms should be sent to the DC Marketing Field Office. Nominations must be received on or before May 17, 2006. Notice of the request for nominations will be published in the April 11 Federal Register.
