USDA Buys for 14,400 MT Pulses
KANSAS CITY - Apr 5/06 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here confirmed the purchase of 14,400 metric tons (MT) of pulses.
Under terms of USDA PL480 food aid tender Solicitation 046, the USDA bought the pulses for shipment between May 6 and 27 on a delivered Gulf ports basis. All pulses sought on the tender were bought.
With the exception of whole yellow peas, average prices paid on the tender were lower than those received by processors on March 7, when the USDA bought 29,160 MT of pulses for shipment in April.
