Sunflower Stocks Double in U.S.WASHINGTON - Mar 31/06 - SNS -- Sunflower stocks in all positions in the United States on March 1, 2006 totaled 1.64 billion pounds, up 116% from March 1, 2005, according to the USDA. All stocks stored on farms totaled 793 million pounds and off-farm stocks totaled 845 million pounds. Stocks of oil type sunflower seed are 1.25 billion pounds; of this total, 627 million pounds are on-farm stocks and 620 million pounds are off-farm stocks. Non-oil sunflower stocks totaled 392 million pounds, with 167 million pounds stored on the farm and 225 million pounds stored off the farm.
