Jordan Confirms H5N1 in TurkeysCHICAGO - Mar 24/06 - SNS -- The Jordanian government confirmed its first case of H5N1 avian influenza in a flock of turkeys that died on a poultry farm in the town of Ajloun. Government officials said people on the farm have tested negative for the virus. The government had already banned imports of poultry products and pet birds and has 60,000 doses of Tamiflu available to treat people if the virus jumps from birds to people as it has in other countries.
