Reduced Frozen Veggie Stocks
WASHINGTON - Mar 22/06 - SNS -- Frozen vegetable supplies fell 9% during February to finish the month at almost 1,874 million pounds, down 6% from the previous year, according to the USDA's latest report on agricultural products in cold storage.
Compared to the previous month, stocks of broccoli, spinach, other onions, southern greens and mixed peas and carrots were up. Compared to last year, stocks of lima beans, broccoli, cauliflower, cur corn, onion rings and green peas were down.
Supplies of potatoes in cold storage were higher, rising 7% on the month to 1,156 million pounds, up 4 million pounds from the previous year.
