Frozen Poultry Supplies Rise in February
WASHINGTON - Mar 22/06 - SNS -- Total frozen poultry supplies at the end of January were up 4% from the previous month, and 22% above last year, according to the USDA's latest report on agricultural products in cold storage.
At 920 million pounds, total stocks of chicken were down 721,000 pounds from the previous month, and up 45% from last year. Frozen egg stocks were also up 7% on the month at 24.2 million pounds.
At 313 million pounds, total pounds of turkey in freezers were up 41 million pounds from last month and down 17% from last year.
