USDA May Tenders Reach 14,400 MT PulsesKANSAS CITY - Mar 21/06 - STAT -- The latest USDA PL-480 tenders bring actual and potential purchases of pulses for shipment as food aid during the 2003-04 shipping season to 179,160 MT. This represents an increase of 36,410 MT over last season. The biggest change is in lentil with shipments up 31,360 MT over the same period last year. This season's volume leader is lentil, with 69,780 MT bought or under tender so far this season. The current round of food aid tenders are for shipment during May and cover: 730 MT colored beans; 2,470 MT lentils; 5,100 MT green peas; and 6,100 MT yellow peas.
