Canada-U.S. Pulse Trade Turns PoliticalVANCOUVER - Mar 17/06 - SNS -- Competition between the Canadian and American pulses industries is once again taking on a more political tone. Canadian farmers seeking countervailing duties against imports of U.S. origin peas because they are included in the U.S. Farm Bill. Growers and some processors in the United States want anti-dumping relief on Canadian peas, lentils and dry edible beans, which they believe are now being sold below the cost of production.
