Birdseed Markets Steady
VANCOUVER - Mar 17/06 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets were generally steady against light demand and limited grower selling.
The lack of grower participation is forcing export asking prices higher as processors refuse to speculate on the willingness of growers to sell.
The situation is complicated by road bans which limit the ability of growers to move product to processing plants. Road bans are a springtime ritual in western Canada.
