Ukraine Sunoil Exports Surge
KIEV - Mar 14/06 - APK -- Exporters in the Ukraine could ship 1.28 million metric tons (MT) of sunflower oil by the close of the 2005-06 marketing campaign, double what moved last season, Olga Dzyubak, Head of Analytical Department of APK-Inform agency, forecasts.
"We increased our total forecast for 2005-06 till 1.28 million MT due to oil export increasing during February", she said.
According to APK-Inform's estimation, Ukraine exported 124,000 MT of sunflower oil in February, 2006. Thus, accumulating sunflower oil export for September-February totaled 656,000 MT, up 2.1 times compared the same period last year.
Since the beginning of the current season Ukrainian plants have produced about 984,500 MT of crude sunflower oil, up 50% compared last year, the expert of APK-Inform agency informed.
