Australian Livestock Auction Action SinksSYDNEY - Mar 10/06 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd plunged during the past week in the face of declining sheep and cattle offerings. Throughput for the week totalled 38,157 sheep and lambs, down from 53,791 head the previous week, ending three week over week increases. The number of cattle put through the company's auctions totalled 1,278, compared to 1,737 last week, for a second week over week loss. "It's the time of year that sheep shippers become more active and there will be two vessels into Adelaide in quick succession," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said. "Because of shortages, one of these and subsequent ships may have to dock at both Adelaide and Portland to fill their requirements." Subscribers can read the full text of the article by Clicking here
