Net Rise in Citrus OutputWASHINGTON - Mar 10/06 - SNS -- The United States recorded a net increase in citrus fruit production in 2005-06, with declines in orange production offset by gains in grapefruit, tangerines and lemons, according to the latest USDA crop report. The U.S. all orange forecast for the 2005-06 season is 9.00 million tons, down 2% from the February forecast and 1% below last season's final utilization of 9.11 million tons. The forecast of the 2005-06 U.S. grapefruit crop is 1.13 million tons, up 4% from the previous forecast and 12% above last season's final utilization. Florida's tangelo forecast, at 1.40 million boxes (63,000 tons), is up 17% from the February 1 forecast but down 10% from last season's utilized production.
