USDA Buys 29,160 MT Pulses
KANSAS CITY - Mar 8/06 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here confirmed the purchase of 29,160 metric tons (MT) of pulses.
Under terms of USDA PL-480 food aid tender invitation 036, the USDA bought the pulse for shipment between April 6 and 27.
In announcing results of the tender, the USDA said it did not buy 1,540 metric tons (MT) of yellow peas because there were no offers. At the same time, the USDA rejected offers on 1,810 MT of yellow peas, 100 MT of yellow split peas, and 110 MT of green peas "due to price."
