Iraq Finally Confirms Wheat PurchasesCHICAGO - Mar 6/06 - SNS -- International agricultural commodity markets started the week with some resolution of the ongoing wheat import negotiations by Iraq. The Grain Board of Iraq confirmed it paid U.S. $188 MT FOB for 500,000 MT of wheat from Canada and $190 MT FOB for 150,000 MT of U.S. wheat. The board said it was still in negotiations to buy 150,000 MT of German wheat and up to 350,000 MT of Australian wheat. But it said it will not deal with the country's wheat marketing board. The Iraqi government says it bought 3.185 million MT of wheat and 1.255 million MT of rice for delivery between July 2005 and February 2006.
