Uzbek Lint Output 1.2 MMTWASHINGTON - Mar 3/06 - SNS -- Cotton production is Uzbekistan will end up around 1.2 million metric tons (MT) across the 2005-06 season, on account of lower than expected yields, according to the U.S. agricultural attache for the country. Officially, Uzbekistan's 2005-06 final seed cotton harvest is estimated at 3.749 million MT, which is 149,000 MT higher than the official state target. Favorable weather conditions during the vegetation period and harvesting in September and October benefited crop conditions and allowed farmers to exceed state targets.
